Summary
The doll you love comes to your television set--Molly: An American Girl. 1944--Jefferson, Illinois. The world is at war, and young Molly McIntire does not like the changes the war has brought--such as rationing rubber, eating turnips for dinner or the fact that her mother must take a job. And more than anything else, Molly misses not seeing her dad for Christmas when, as a doctor, he must go away to care for wounded soldiers. But Molly makes a new friend in Emily, an English girl who comes to stay with the McIntires to escape the bombing of London. Together, the two girls learn the importance of getting along and pulling together--just as their countries must do to win the war
