Summary
Lansdale places Deadwood Dick, aka Nat Love, the African American plainsman, in the Texas Panhandle in 1874, just in time for the Second Battle of Adobe Walls. The second battle is less well known than the first, in which Kit Carson was the hero, but both battles had much to do with ending the Indian Wars
