Summary
In response to the attempt to "shock and awe" Iraq into submission, Deep Dish TV put out a call to artists, filmmakers and editors to create this powerful series. Each of the 12 programs contains segments produced by different artists and activists, collaged together by the program editors...The iconic image for the series is Picasso's Guerinica. His agonized, chaotic images of that townsuggest the death and destruction suffered by the people of Iraq under two U.S. invasions, 12 years of sanctions and military occupation. The Guernica mural was created to protest the fascist destruction of that Basque town during the Spanish Civil War. Images from Guernica have been recurring icons in many of the anti-war protests around the world..."No, painting is not made to decorate apartments. It's an offensive and defensive weapon against the enemy." - Picasso
