Summary
World War II saw the formal beginning of small, highly trained Special Forces military groups. The Army Rangers were among them. As the war was ending, the US saw a chance to rescue more than 500 men being held captive deep in the Philippine jungle by Japanese forces. Inside, read about one of the greatest raids in military history, one that put Army Rangers firmly in the mix as one of America's Special Forces.
